Korean premium brand Genesis has gracefully hinted at the imminent debut of a rival BMW X6. The GV80 Coupe SUV was shown as a scale model in the promotional video “Design Conversation with Luc Donckerwolke.” The toy version of the cross-coupe is in the third row from the top on the shelf next to the regular GV80, so it’s impossible to confuse the new product with something else. According to South Korean journalists, the Genesis GV80 Coupe will premiere next year.
The Genesis GV80 line is gradually expanding – a six-seater version was added in August, a luxurious four-seater version with second-row seats shifted back has already been announced.
Korean journalists believe that the technology of the GV80 Coupe will be identical to an ordinary crossover, and no noticeable design changes are expected. Judging by the impromptu teaser, up to the B-pillar, the eighties will be the same, but the cross-coupe will slightly decrease the roof height, and the stern will be redesigned. Genesis GV80 Coupe will challenge the “Germans”: Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, Audi Q8 and BMW X6.
One more expected novelty appeared in the video – a large electric crossover GV90. However, the model is as uninformative as possible – the glass is made deaf, and the whole body is painted in matte paint, so the details cannot be seen.
However, belonging to the “ninetieth” family has been de facto confirmed: the SUV is located in the same row as the new flagship sedan G90.
