Ford has decided not to develop a pickup version of the Bronco SUV. This is reported by Automotive News, citing knowledgeable sources among the suppliers of the American company.
So, it became known that Ford decided to abandon the idea of releasing a pickup based on the new Bronco SUV. It was planned that the 4-door pickup based on the Bronco model will be launched by Ford in 2024, and its main rival will be the Jeep Gladiator.
But, as one of Ford’s top managers, Mike Levin, told Automotive News, the company’s management is quite satisfied with the sales of the current off-road line, including the current pickup models. Experts suggest that the refusal to release a new pickup based on the Ford Bronco SUV is due to concerns of the Ford concern that the sales of other models of the brand, for example, the mid-size Ranger pickup, will worsen.
