Last fall, even before sales of the revived Ford Bronco began, the Texas-based Hennessey Performance Engineering presented a project of extreme refinement of an SUV, turning it into a monster with a five-liter 760-horsepower V8. Now that the production model has already entered the American market, John Hennessy and his associates have prepared another, more modest and affordable tuning kit.
The new car was named Hennessey VelociRaptor 400 Bronco. She kept the factory 2.7-liter V6, but by replacing the intake and exhaust and updating the software, the specialists raised its output to 411 hp. and 682 Nm – a serious increase in comparison with the original characteristics. The company claims that the 400th VelociRaptor accelerates to 97 km / h in 4.9 seconds – 0.4 seconds slower than the aforementioned VelociRaptor V8 Bronco.
In addition to the modified engine, the VelociRaptor 400 Bronco received new 18-inch rims with 35-inch off-road tires, different bumpers, additional lighting, retractable side steps. The body is adorned with the words Hennessey and VelociRaptor, and the name of the company is also printed on the headrests of the seats. The atelier gives its own three-year warranty for a “charged” car.
Taking into account the cost of the donor Bronco Badlands, such an SUV will cost 80 thousand dollars. As with the V8, buyers can choose the number of doors and the type of roof. In 2021, no more than 200 copies of the Hennessey VelociRaptor 400 Bronco will be produced, orders are already being accepted.
