Honda introduced new electric crossovers

Honda has launched a pair of new electric SUVs for the Chinese market called e: NP1 and e: NS1. It is assumed that the new items will serve as the basis for an electric crossover for the European market. The E: NP1 is an electric SUV designed for the Chinese car market, while the e: NS1 variant is a sportier model. Both vehicles will go on sale in China in spring 2022.

The new Hona e: NP1 and e: NS1 have been designed in the style of the previously presented e: Concept. In contrast to the prototype, production cars received two additional doors in the rear, however, the shape of the radiator grille and thin headlights are made in accordance with the design of the concept. The silhouettes of both cars are almost identical to the concept cars, and the full-width rear light bar is roughly the same shape. Even the alloy wheels have the same multi-spoke design, albeit downsized to a more reasonable 18-inch size. Another difference between serial crossovers will be the presence of classic rear-view mirrors instead of cameras, at least this will be the case in the basic version.

Official Honda images also reveal some interior details. Both will be equipped with a digital instrument cluster in front of the driver and a huge 15-inch screen of the infotainment system. Technically, the crossovers will be completely identical – they will be based on a platform designed for use in electric vehicles with front-wheel drive. According to the manufacturer, the new items will have a maximum cruising range of 500 kilometers and power plants with a capacity of 180 and 201 hp. The top speed of the crossovers will be electronically limited to 150 km / h.

The equipment of the cars has also become known. So, electric cars will receive a 360-degree camera and a new driver assistance system, which in its capabilities will resemble a full-fledged autopilot. Recall that in China, the new Honda e: NP1 and e: NS1 will appear in 2022.
