Honda has unveiled a pre-production version of an electric crossover at the Shanghai Motor Show. The novelty will be the first of ten electric vehicles that the brand will develop exclusively for the Chinese market.
Externally, the Honda SUV e: prototype resembles the third-generation HR-V crossover, which the company introduced in February 2021. However, unlike the petrol counterpart, the electric car has received many LED light sources. In addition to the front optics and wide headlights, the crossover was decorated with LED strips under the hood edge, on the front bumper and sills, as well as a luminous logo.
Japanese experts have not yet disclosed interior details, as well as technical details of the novelty. It is known that the electric crossover will receive the innovative third-generation Honda Connect software, which will allow the electric car to remotely update the firmware. In addition, smart technology can recognize voice commands and make online purchases while driving.
The production version of the Honda SUV e: prototype will appear in the spring of 2022. The crossover, which will be available exclusively in the Chinese market, will be one of ten electric vehicles the company will sell in the country as part of its strategy to reduce its carbon footprint.
Last week, Honda released the first photo of the production version of the new Civic. The model of the eleventh generation retained the features in common with the prototype, but still received changes in the exterior.
