As part of the Shanghai Motor Show, the Hongqi brand unveiled the production version of the S9 coupe, a prototype of which was unveiled in 2019. The appearance of the commercial version was significantly changed, and the interior was simplified. It is expected to cost $ 1.45 million, making the Hongqi S9 the most expensive Chinese model.

The exterior of the serial Hongqi S9 lost, for example, a spectacular rear wing: technically, this element was preserved, but instead of a semicircular one it became straight. They also changed the lines of the front of the car, where a more traditional bumper is now installed. The head optics have also undergone changes. Wheels have also become less extravagant, although they still look exotic.

The main change in the cabin is the appearance of an angular steering wheel instead of the steering wheel used on the concept. According to local media, all changes are related to the need to bring Hongqi S9 to the security standards adopted in the Middle Kingdom. In turn, the chief designer of the developer noted that today the hypercar represents “the greatest possible balance between aerodynamics, proportions and beauty.”

Whether the technical part of Hongqi S9 has been changed is not specified yet. Recall that a hybrid power plant was installed on the concept, which consisted of a gasoline V8 and three electric motors. The total output of the units was about 1400 hp, this allowed the Hongqi S9 to accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h in about 1.9 seconds and reach a top speed of over 400 km / h.

As a reminder, in February of this year it became known that the Hongqi S9 will be assembled by Silk EV, which was specially founded by the FAW concern – it includes the Hongqi brand. The plant will be based in Italy.

In total, according to various sources, it is planned to release from 70 to 99 copies of the S9 hypercar, each of which costs at least 10 million yuan.

Although it is definitely an unfinished replica, I would be interested in contact details, anyway. Maybe this could be an interesting project.
