Against the backdrop of constant delays in the launch of new products that distinguish Tesla, the German manufacturer BMW pleases with punctuality with its new electric vehicles. Moreover, the company is moving ahead of schedule.
A little over a month after the first production BMW i4 rolled off the assembly line in Munich, the first cars were delivered to customers. Deliveries began three months earlier than originally planned, with the company also preparing the first iX SUVs to ship.
The BVW iX and i4 heralds a new era for the Bavarian brand on the road to fully electrifying its vehicles. All-electric versions of the BMW 7 Series, BMW X1 and the best-selling BMW 5 Series will follow in the coming years. For this, the company has already modernized a production line in Munich. Each of the brand’s factories in Germany will produce fully electric vehicles from 2022.
The BMW i4 electric car is available in two versions. Single-engine eDrive40 with 335 hp offers a range of 590 km, while the more all-wheel drive twin-engine M50 develops 536 hp. and is able to travel 520 kilometers without recharging.
Currently, one in four cars of the BMW Group in Germany is electrified. It is expected that by 2030 more than 50 percent of the Bavarian concern’s global sales will come from electric vehicles.
Recall that the BMW Concept XM crossover debuted with an unusual design. Until the end of 2022, the car will go into production and become the most powerful crossover of the brand.
