American Porsche fan T. J. Russell announced the beginning of serial production of profoundly modernized version of the 911, adapted for rally-raids. Factory Russell offers customers a lightweight buggy, hand-made based on the model of the family 964: the sports car completely revised suspension, boosted engine and modified interior.
Debut rally Porsche 911 from the company Russell Built Fabrication took place at the tuning show SEMA in Las Vegas, and Russell originally planned to be limited to a single instance. However, at the exhibition potential customers repeatedly asked Americans about the price of this car, and T. J. decided to start small-scale production.
Compared to conventional Porsche 911 in the body 964 version from Russell Built Fabrication has increased by 76 millimeters and a wheelbase extended by 355 mm gauge. Sports car chassis is reinforced and assembled on the sports components, which allowed to increase the stroke of the front suspension to 305 millimetres, and rear – up to 343 millimeters.
Almost all body panels Porsche all rebuilt from composite materials and aluminum, side Windows made of Plexiglas. The car’s weight was reduced to 1270 kilos: it’s 180 pounds less than the curb weight of the usual “nine hundred and sixty-four”.
Rally 911 drives a standard six-cylinder boxer engine with air cooling, but the mechanics Rothsport Racing increase the displacement from 3.6 to 3.8 liters, replace the throttle control unit and the intake system. The upgrade allows you to increase the power up to 370 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque.
Depending on the wishes of the client upgraded sports car can be rear – or all-wheel drive. Transmission goes to the SUV from the standard “nine hundred eleventh” Carrera or Carrera 4 is unchanged.
The cost of the product Russell Built Fabrication depends on the wishes of the potential buyer, because the American firms are ready to personalize a SUV, releasing a buggy from the Spartan racing interior or road coupe with a luxurious interior made according to individual patterns.
While the firm does not give information even on the starting price. T. J. Russell was able to draw on your sports car approved for roads, so in the US problems with the registration of the car will not.
