A video appeared on YouTube showing the failure of the most powerful modification of the Tesla Model with the S Plaid prefix. The electric car lost on the drag strip Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Is this the end of Elon Musk’s reputation? Let’s figure it out.
The Plaid version of the Tesla Model S produces a crazy 1020 hp, and according to the passport, it takes just 1.99 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km / h. The factory Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has nothing to answer: it has only 760 hp, and the “sprint” overcomes much slower – in 3.9 seconds. However, in this case we are talking about a tuned copy: the craftsmen raised the return of the 5.2-liter V8 to more than a thousand “horses”.
Equal, in fact, rivals turned out to be very close in single races, but the “Ford” is still faster – 9.14 seconds versus 9.24 seconds. In doubles competition Shelby was slightly ahead both times. Unconditional dry win.
Recently, another to present Tesla’s line – the Model X crossover – was able to prove himself in an unusual race with … Fiat Panda Cross. The first weighs 2533 kg due to capacious batteries and is powered by a 422-horsepower power plant, and the compact Panda weighing 1165 kg barely produces 85 hp. However, the race was not held on a straight quarter-mile distance, but off-road. If you haven’t seen the race results yet, be sure to check it out, it’s interesting.
