BMW told about a new stage of cooperation with the famous film composer Hans Zimmer, who will come up with a unique sound for the future M-versions of the BMW iX and BMW i4 electric cars.
Hans Zimmer continues cooperation with BMW. He will be paired with Bavarian sound designer and acoustic specialist Renzo Vitale. They worked together some time ago on the sounds for the BMW Vision M NEXT and Concept i4 electric concept cars.
Now the musicians will develop the sound design for the new production models of the BMW iX and i4, including an individual sound for the BMW i4 in the “charged” M version. The Oscar-winning composer noted that the quiet operation of electric cars guarantees a high level of comfort, but do not forget about the emotionality of driving.
BMW said that the sound will change depending on the selected driving mode, and also added that “acceleration leads to a significant increase in sound, faithfully reflecting the characteristics of the car.”
At the same time, BMW said little about the car itself. It is assumed that the M-version of the electric car will receive a power of about 523 hp. and will be able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h in about four seconds.
