Chery Automobile and Huawei Technologies signed a comprehensive framework agreement on in-depth cooperation. We are talking about the development of electrical and electronic architectures for” smart cars”, cockpits for them, autopilot, information and communication technologies (including 5G communication),” smart energy”, cloud services and big data infrastructure. However, it is not Huawei itself that will work with Chery, but its” daughter ” Smart Car Solutions BU.

The agreement was signed by President of the Smart Car Solutions business unit Wang Jun (left) and Vice President of Chery Gao Xinhua. Chery boss Yin Tongyue is peeking out from behind on the right. The head of Huawei, 76-year-old Ren Zhengfei, did not participate in the ceremony. Chi Lingchun, the marketing Manager, came in instead.

Now “smart cars” is engaged in the division of Chery New Energy, which in September presented the modular platform @Life. The smart car range includes (from left to right): “little ant” Ant eQ, Tiggo e SUV, “big ant” Mayi and arrizo e sedan.

Huawei aims to become as powerful a provider of “smart solutions” in China as Bosch is in Europe and the United States. The Chinese concern already cooperates with more than 30 car brands. It promotes Huawei’s HiCar system, considered an analog of Apple’s CarPlay, and brings together 18 companies in the ” 5G ecosystem.” Among them are BAIC, BYD, Changan, Dongfeng, FAW, GAC, Great Wall, JAC, SAIC and, of course, Chery.
