Global IT giant Huawei, a partner of Chinese car manufacturer Chongqing Sokon, may soon start selling the Seres SF7 electric crossover, cnevpost.com reports.
This message appeared on the iAUTO2010 account on the Chinese social network WeChat. According to known information, sales of the new model should take place during the second half of this year. It is likely that the model will debut in August.
At the moment, there is very little official information on the new product. First of all, it is known that the SF7 is a seven-seat mid-size crossover, which will be positioned one step above the production model SF5.
The current SF7 is likely to be very different from the concept unveiled in 2018, where it acted as a coupe-like sports crossover. Now it is clear that the time of popularity of coupe-like silhouettes is gradually coming to an end, so the company decided to change the positioning of the car. It is likely that the promising car will also be sold through the Huawei dealer network.
Note that the manufacturer currently offers two crossovers – Seres 3 and Seres SF5. The first of them is based on the Dongfeng Fengguang E3 gasoline engine and is equipped with one 163 horsepower (300 Nm) electric motor. The car is not very popular in China, but it was noted for the fact that it is being implemented very well in Germany.
The second car is a sequential hybrid and has a 4-cylinder turbocharged 1.5-liter SFG15TR engine-generator with 122 hp. It powers either one electric motor with 347 horsepower (520 Nm), or two motors, which have a total output of 694 horsepower, torque is 1040 Nm.
Recall that it was SF5 that became the first model that began to be implemented through the Huawei networks. This experience proved to be successful, showing 6,000 orders in the first week.
