The company Hyundai introduced the “charged” version of its facelifted SUV, which is designed for South Africa. The model not only changed the exterior design, but also increased the impact motor.
In South Africa version called Sport was still at pre-reform Tucson – there is a “sportsman” appeared about two years ago. The special edition crossover is not restricted, but high demand for it cannot be called: according to local media, the dealers realized 516 “charged” cars. However, in the South African division of the company Hyundai has decided to return to the modification of the Sport – now for the redesigned Tucson (model updated in the past year).
The SUV had the same pads under the bumpers and sills, which were in the previous Tucson Sport. Black 19-inch wheels also inherited from its predecessor, in place and dual exhaust pipes. But the roof rails repainted – they are now also black, not silver.
The “sport” version is created on the basis of Elite top-end configuration, that is, in the equipment list Tucson Sport include led optics, leather Seating (front – electrically adjustable), multimedia system with touchscreen, rear view camera, panoramic sunroof, monitoring system “blind” zones, climate control and cruise control.

The main difference of the current Hyundai Tucson Sport model sample 2017 is that “sports” cross, you can also buy petrol, and diesel engines, while the predecessor was only the petrol version. Power diesel 2.0 CRDi increased from 178 to 204 HP and maximum torque increased from 400 to 460 Nm. This engine combined with an eight “automatic”. Petrol engine – as the previous Sports power “turboservice” 1.6 T-GDI is also increased to 204 HP (instead of 177 HP), torque of 300 Nm (standard motor 265 Nm), it is paired with a seven-speed robotized transmission with two clutches. As before, the Tucson Sport front-wheel drive only. By the way, South Africa’s all-wheel drive Toscano now in principle not allowed, although pre-reform standard of the cross version was 4WD.
Beyond the South African market, this SUV will not get out. However, the global model also has a version of “under the sport” – debuted in March the cross with the prefix N Line. The power of the “world” did not add SUV (max 185 HP), but, unlike Toussaint’s African, he’s retuned suspension and steering. And next year should make his debut really “evil” Hyundai Tucson N: it is expected that this crossover will get a 345-horsepower engine.
