TheKorenCarBlog has the first official photos of the Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup. The premiere of the car will take place on Thursday, April 15, at 19:00 Kiev time.
Judging by the pictures, the outwardly serial pickup will turn out to be somewhat different compared to the prototype of the same name, which debuted six years ago. Hyundai Santa Cruz, which will appear on the conveyor, will more resemble the fourth generation Tucson crossover: it will receive complex front optics visually combined with a radiator grille illuminated by diodes.
From the new Tucson, the Santa Cruz pickup will also inherit the technical stuffing: the engine range of the model will include four-cylinder atmospheric and turbocharged gasoline units. In particular, we are talking about a 2.5-liter engine of the Smartstream family with a capacity of 200 horsepower.
Plus, they can offer it with a three-liter six-cylinder diesel engine, which develops 278 horsepower on the Genesis GV80 crossover. Finally, in the future, it is possible that a modification with a hybrid power plant will appear.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz, which the company calls the Sport Adventure Vehicle, will be launched at a facility in the US state of Alabama. In the US, the novelty will compete with Toyota Tacoma and Ford Ranger.
