If tight in the LC300: Toyota is preparing a new generation of Alphard

The new fourth generation Toyota Alphard minivan will be released in the second half of 2022. The Japanese portal BestCarWeb writes about this with reference to its own sources.

As the source notes, the premiere of the new generation Alphard is scheduled for fall-winter 2022. The minivan will be transferred to the TNGA platform. The motor will be placed closer to the ground in relation to the model of the current sample, this solution will reduce the center of gravity of the model.

At the same time, Alphard will retain a large wheelbase (3000 mm), the overall body height will be reduced by 10-15 mm (in the current Alphard it is 1950 mm). A lot of work will be done on the suspension and steering to improve handling and agility.

For the new generation Alphard will be offered a hybrid power plant based on a 2.5-liter gasoline engine. A pure petrol version will also be available, with a 2.4-liter turbocharged unit producing 280 hp. The legendary 3.5-liter “six” will go down in history.

Judging by BestCarWeb renderings, the new Alphard will receive a consistent styling, but the headlights will become narrower, and only a small extension will remain from the proprietary second roof pillar piled forward.

The current generation Alphard is sold on the Ukrainian market at a price of $ 118,000. The third generation Toyota Alphard (code – AH30) has been produced since 2015. The minivan has undergone an update in 2017.
