As the Japanese edition BestCarWeb clarifies, the queue for the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 SUV in Japan stretched for 4 years. So far, such a long wait has affected only the most expensive versions of the model, but, in general, everyone will have to wait.
According to the Japanese edition, the reasons for such a queue were the aggravated shortage of electronic components, as well as the excitement of demand for the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300. In just 2 weeks from the start of accepting orders in Japan, dealers collected about 20 thousand applications for the new product, although the original plan provided for the sale of no more than 5 thousand cars per year.
Most of the pre-orders – about 90% – are for the most expensive versions of the SUV (ZX and GR Sport), costing from 7.7 to 8 million yen or 70 100-72 800 dollars at the current exchange rate. Only 40% of customers choose Toyota Land Cruiser 300 with diesel engine.
