Imbued with freedom: the organizers of the Burning Man festival sell unique “mutant cars”

The organizers of the popular electronic music festival Burning Man, which takes place annually in the desert of the American state of Nevada, put up more than two hundred unique exhibits for sale. Among the art objects are several unusual machines made in a post-apocalyptic style. The sale of exclusive vehicles should help organizers solve financial problems related to event cancellations.

The Bunrning Man Electronic Music Festival has been held annually in the Nevada desert since 1986. The event is famous for its unusual art objects, which often resemble alien cars. Due to restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, organizers are forced to cancel the popular festival for the second year in a row. In order to somehow cover the costs, representatives of Burning Man decided to put up for auction about 200 unique exhibits.

The most famous art object available for purchase is David Best’s “rocket car”. The unusual vehicle was built on the basis of the 1973 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. The unique car, capable of taking on board 16 people, is estimated at $ 50,000. However, so far only $ 10,000 has been offered for the vehicle during the auction.

For $ 20,000, you can purchase a post-apocalyptic cockroach car based on a 2004 Honda Civic. Another exclusive vehicle for the auction was a forged electric scooter shaped like a prehistoric fossil. The organizers estimated such an exhibit at $ 40,000.
