Most of the cars last month in the European Union was sold by Volkswagen — 156 866 pieces.
In Europe in July of this year it sold 1 million 325 thousand 600 new cars. This figure is 1.2% more than in the same period last year. This is stated in the study by JATO Dynamics. As for the first seven months of 2019, here sales show a negative result — 9 million 723 thousand 400 sold cars (-2,5%).
Most of the cars last month in the European Union was sold by Volkswagen. In July, the company was able to implement 156 866 machines, which is 6.6% less than 2018. In second place is Ford, which sold 83 794 vehicles (+7.3 per cent).
Closes the top three for Peugeot. During the month the French were able to sell 80 824 of the car. This figure is 5.2% more than in the same period last year. On the fourth and fifth places were Mercedes-Benz and Opel. These companies sold 75 787 (+18.2%) and 72 940 (+8,2%) vehicles respectively.
Most popular car the Europeans will remain a Volkswagen Golf. In second place ranking is another model of German concern — Polo.
The study also noted the growth of sales of cars with electric motors and hybrid propulsion systems. Per month were sold in Europe 96 600 such vehicles. This figure is 29% higher than the results of July 2018. The greatest growth was in sales of electric vehicles increased by 98% (23 200). The best-selling “green” model was the Renault Zoe. In turn, Tesla managed to sell in July, most of the electric cars.
At the same time continuing fall in sales of cars with diesel units. In July, the implementation of such vehicles fell by 5% compared to 2018.
