German firm E-Legend has unveiled an ultra-exclusive 805bhp electric vehicle that pays homage to the Audi Quattro S1 rally car ahead of next year’s production launch.
The carbon-fiber coupe, dubbed the EL1, is powered by three electric motors – one with 201 horsepower. front and rear a pair of 302 hp units. each, powered by a 90 kWh rechargeable battery. The battery can be charged at up to 300 kWh.
E-Legend, which showed the completed prototype at the Munich Auto Show, says the rally-inspired electric car has a range of almost 400 km and can accelerate to 100 km / h in just 2.8 seconds.
The car weighing 1680 kg is equipped with 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, LED optics, spoiler and three-way adjustable suspension. The interior has yet to be finalized, but we know it will have multimedia, air conditioning and a rearview camera.
“The goal of the E-Legend is to bring analogue primal emotional driving instincts to the modern world,” the company said, noting that the EL1 is based on an ultra-lightweight and proven carbon monocoque. “In the first phase of development, this car is powered by 600 kW [805 hp] electric motors and has an extremely charming design inspired by one of the unforgettable technical wonders of the legendary rally era.”
A total of 30 copies of the EL1 will be sold for approximately £ 762,000 ($ 1,052,900) excluding taxes. E-Legend also announced that there will be two more rally-inspired models in the future, both of which will be produced in the same number of 30 pieces.
