The automaker has begun testing an updated version of the Renault Duster crossover.
The arrival of the new Dacia Sandero and the recent commercial launch of the Dacia Spring are only the first part of the brand’s new plan, which is being implemented by the Romanian manufacturer. Dacia is currently working at full capacity on the development of several new products, which will be announced shortly. One of them will be the restyling of the Duster. The novelty, which the automaker sells in Europe under the Dacia brand, was spotted by photo spies the day before during testing. As expected, the model will receive slight changes.
A mid-life update of the model will allow the second generation to match the brand’s renewing lineup. A facelift that will bring new features both in terms of aesthetics and equipment and mechanics.
These new spy photos provide a clearer look at the new Duster. We can see that Dacia decided to carefully cover both the front and rear of the prototypes. And this is logical, since it is in these places that the main aesthetic changes will take place. The Duster adapts to the new Dacia design language we’ve seen on models such as the new Sandero and Logan. The front and rear optics will be updated with a new pattern. There will also be changes to both the bumpers and the front grille. In addition, the automaker will add new body colors and even wheels.
As for the mechanical part, there will be changes here too. The bulk of the engine range will be retained, but the updated crossover will also receive a 7-speed EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Duster will finally have an automatic transmission again.
The BiFuel version with the ECO-G engine adapted to LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) will continue to be present in the engine range.
The debut of the new Dacia Duster is scheduled for summer 2021. It will go on sale before the end of the year.
