KIA has seen the same initial surge in demand for its new EV6 as it did for the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
KIA announced that on the first day of the launch of a dedicated website in South Korea alone, more than 21,000 potential customers applied for online booking for the upcoming EV6 electric car. This is an outstanding result, almost in line with the 23,760 Ioniq 5 pre-orders (in 24 hours) reported by Hyundai (also in South Korea).
As a reminder, the KIA EV6 was unveiled on March 30, 2021 and will hit the market in the second half of this year. Moreover, it is not reported how many people in Europe have expressed a desire to book a car, but the demand for a novelty in the Old World will also be quite high.
In Europe, the KIA EV6 can be pre-ordered with a refundable deposit of only € 100. The company plans to begin accepting orders in May, with the first car deliveries to customers scheduled for September.
In general, the KIA EV6 will hit the market a few months after the Hyundai Ioniq 5, an electric car based on the same E-GMP platform, but with a completely different style. Customers who pre-book by April 30, 2021 and place an order by December 31, 2021 will receive several pleasant bonuses, including access to the IONITY charging network for one year, as well as an annual subscription to KiaCharge (about 210,000 charging points per throughout Europe, including AC and DC connectors).
