Over the past few years a large touch screen in the car has become mainstream. That is, install them even in budget models, but Mazda is always treading on new ground and put large displays, leaving a small information panel.
Mazda has officially announced that in the future will cancel the large Central display on all new models, leaving only a small screen. The first model was the new Mazda 3, the interior of which there is only a small display, and on the Central panel there are physical buttons multimedia system.
The company commented:
“According to our survey, when the driver touches the touch screen interface in any vehicle, he unintentionally turns the steering wheel and the vehicle, in one degree or another, deviates from its route.” Experts also added that “when using the touch screen the driver must look at the screen, which increases the risk of road accidents”.
New models Mazda display will be mounted closer to the windshield to reduce the deviation of the driver’s view of the road. Also the brightness of the display is strictly limited.
Mazda sent for repair over 25 thousand Mazda3 due to falling off of wheels. A large-scale recall will affect vehicles sold in the USA.
