A few images showing the interior of the upcoming electric hatchback VW ID.3, appeared on the Internet. Presentation of the car will take place at the Frankfurt motor show this fall.
These images were taken from video that was recently released by the press service of the German automaker. We present here various screenshots of key parts of the new interior, revealed during a short video.
We are shown a large touch-screen infotainment system. Everything looks pretty familiar, until you look at the steering wheel where the engineers at Volkswagen have posted a small screen – which displays specific information such as current speed, distance, navigation, and radar cruise control.
From the published images are difficult to understand, where physically is that screen attached directly to the steering column or located behind the steering wheel.
Side of this Central display is a unique gear selector, which allows drivers to switch between modes of Parking, neutral gear, reverse, mode “Drive” and appears to be mode regeneration brake. In its design it is somewhat similar to the gear selector, mounted in the steering column of the German city car BMW i3.
It is noteworthy that this is the second time this video is published – not so long ago, he’s appeared on the Internet, but very soon was removed.
Volkswagen will present serial electro hatchback costs ID.3 at the September motor show in Frankfurt. The German novelty will be sold in different versions, including a version with a battery of 77 kWh and a cruising range of 550 km.
