Infiniti has unveiled the 2022 QX80 with an updated SUV with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new center console and wireless smartphone charging. Multimedia can be controlled in two different ways, it supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and navigation is standard equipment. Externally, the QX80 has not changed, but under the hood of the SUV is the same 5.6-liter V8 engine, which in the American specification develops 405 horsepower.
The pre-reform SUV used a configuration with two screens with a diagonal of seven and eight inches. The upper one was responsible for navigation and Android Auto, and the lower one was responsible for controlling the climate system, audio system and other settings. However, starting in 2022, the QX80 will abandon this layout and move to a single 12.3-inch display from which all systems can be controlled. Moreover, you can use both a touchscreen and a controller located on the central tunnel.
The design of the center console has been revised: two rectangular air vents and buttons for controlling the air conditioner have appeared, and a wireless charger for a smartphone has been placed to the right of the gear lever. In general, the design of the front panel looks more modern than on the pre-styled QX80.
In the US, the SUV is available with a 5.6-liter 405 horsepower gasoline engine, which is paired with a seven-speed automatic. Drive – rear or full. Pricing for the previous model year starts at $ 70,545, and the updated QX80 has yet to be announced.
