Renault has unveiled the second generation of its electric Kangoo.
The Renault Kangoo van of the second generation received an electric motor with power increased to 122 horsepower (90 kW), became longer-range, and also acquired a wide range of winter options. If the outgoing Kangoo Z.E. there is a 33 kWh battery, then the new version of Kangoo E-Tech Electric has 45 kWh. The cruising range on the WLTP cycle reaches 300 km. Although it was previously planned that the characteristics of the new items will be more modest: 44 kWh and no more than 265 km.
The new Renault Kangoo can be charged in different ways: using a standard 11 kW charger, or an optional 22 kW 3-phase charger. The fastest option is using an 80 kW charging station, which provides energy for 170 km of track (this is approximately 56% of the battery capacity) in 30 minutes. The novelty has 6 driving modes, including 3 with varying degrees of regenerative braking.
The battery of the new Renault Kangoo is located under the floor of the body, so that the volume of the cargo compartment has not decreased compared to the version with an internal combustion engine. The short van can hold 3.9 cubic meters and can carry up to 600 kg on board. An elongated van will carry a cubic meter and 200 kg more.
The new Kangoo E-Tech Electric has a heat pump in the heating system, as well as heating for the steering wheel, windshield and front seats. Among other options, the novelty has an ultra-wide doorway on the starboard side (1.45 m), like a conventional Kangoo version, an electronic instrument cluster, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go technology, keyless entry, an 8-inch display of the Renault Easy Link media system, navigation with different functions for planning trips based on the need to charge the battery.
