FAW’s premium brand Hongqi continues to expand its lineup.
Recall that the new electric sedan Hongqi E-QM5 was first shown back in January this year, but now it is fully ready for production and entry into the Chinese market. The four-door has an original design: instead of headlights, there are thin diode contours of the running lights, while the main floodlights were installed in the corners of the bumper.
From the images shown, it may seem that the new Hongqi E-QM5 is a golf class car, but in fact the car has the dimensions of an executive sedan: length – 5040 mm, width – 1910 mm, and wheelbase – 2990 mm. It’s all about proportions. The Hongqi E-QM5 is 1569 mm high, which means that the car is almost 100 mm taller than the Audi A8 or BMW 7-Series. The base wheels of the novelty are 18-inch, and the trunk volume is 433 liters.
In the cabin, Hongqi E-QM5 has separate rear seats with an electric recline, and a retractable footrest is provided for the most important right passenger. In the massive central armrest of the car there is a control panel for the seats, as well as individual climate control zones: it is four-zone. At the same time, the front part of the interior does not look rich: there are ordinary analog devices, there is no projector, no seat ventilation, no sunroof, and the chairs themselves are relatively simple, albeit with an electric drive.
The five-meter Hongqi E-QM5 sedan is equipped with a single electric motor on the front axle, which develops just 136 hp. The maximum speed of such a car will be no more than 130 km / h. The lithium-iron-phosphate traction battery has a capacity of 54 kW? H, and the passport range of the electric car is 431 km according to the outdated NEDC cycle. So far, only government agencies and corporate buyers in China will be able to purchase the new electric sedan Hongqi E-QM5, but later access will be open to private customers.
