Morgan released the Plus 8 GTR sketch in February this year, and today it officially unveiled the model. Nine in a batch of Yas Marina Blue. Five units sold to export markets, the remaining four will remain in the UK.
Each car is equipped with the naturally aspirated V8 Bavaria N62B48, which BMW models were equipped with many years ago. The powertrain has a displacement of 4.8 liters, and it may be familiar to you from the second-generation X5 crossover. In the new interpretation, the engine produces not sickly 375 hp, which is 20 points more compared to the aforementioned “X-sleeping”.
The Plus 8 GTR itself pays homage to the 1990s Big Blue race car. It is referred to by white rims with a center nut and a five-spoke design. Some copies will be shipped to customers by the end of the month, while the latter will ship in the first quarter of next year.
Morgan says each customer had the opportunity to work with the design team to create a truly personalized vehicle. In addition, it was possible to choose between left and right hand drive, six-speed manual or automatic.
Plus 8 GTR isn’t the only special edition from Morgan this year. The Plus Four CX-T was previously introduced with a higher ground clearance.
