MINI has spread in social networks an image of the mysterious novelty, which it promises to show this year: the photo is accompanied by a comment that “something exciting” awaits the fans of the brand. The teaser shows the Cooper S with black decor: the hatchback has a darkened radiator grille, a glossy headlight edging appeared, and the emblem was replaced with a black one. It is logical to assume that the company is preparing a “black” special version for the model. You won’t have to wait long for details, as the new product will be declassified in October.
MINI car sales in Europe sagged amid the coronavirus crisis. So, in 2020, dealers of the brand managed to sell almost 172.8 thousand new cars, which is 197 percent less than in 2021. Apparently, the company decided to stir up interest in its models by diversifying the range with the next special version, which will differ from others by black accents in the exterior.
The next major novelty of the brand should be the Countryman, which will debut in 2023: the crossover is expected to grow in size and receive both internal combustion engines and an electric installation.
The latest generation of “fuel” MINI hatchbacks will be released in 2025, and by the beginning of the third decade the automaker expects to completely abandon the production of traditional internal combustion engines and will produce only electric cars.
