Jeep Wrangler got a hybrid version with charging function


Jeep Wrangler received a hybrid version behind Compass and Renegade – rechargeable from the wall outlet SUV debuted at the International consumer electronics show CES 2020, which is being held these days in Las Vegas.

Jeep continues the electrification of the model range, as already by 2021, every model of the brand will have to modify the charging function. In March last year, the hybrid powertrain has received the Compass and Renegade, both equipped with 1.3-liter gasoline turbo engine and an electric motor, and the first is responsible for the rotation of the front wheels and the second rear.

As for SUV’s the Wrangler, on display at CES, the details about a technical stuffing in the Jeep chose to keep secret: the visitors could only see the vehicle connected to charging stations. It is expected that the information about the product will open in March, and mass production will start before the end of 2020.


Formally Wrangler already has an electrified version – we are talking about a modification with a “mild” hybrid system. It includes “turboservice” capacity of 2.0 liters capacity of 272 horsepower, the starter-generator with a belt drive and a 48-volt onboard network.
