Jeep unveils the Xtreme Recon package for the Jeep Wrangler SUV at the 2021 Chicago Auto Show.
Development has unveiled an optional package with wheels wrapped in factory LT315 / 70R17C 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 off-road tires. To accommodate those large wheels, the Wrangler will also receive a 1.5-inch suspension lift with uniquely tuned dampers and swing deflector reinforcement, and a 4.56: 1 axle ratio.
Jeep claims the modifications help provide best-in-class approach (47.4 degrees) and exit angles (40.4 degrees), as well as ground clearance (12.9 inches) and water ford ability (33.6 degrees). inches). It also has a tilt angle of 26.7 degrees.
The Pack is now available on the 3.6-liter Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited automatic with eTorque and Wrangler Rubicon 392. Production will begin in August at the Jeep plant in Toledo, Ohio.
The company also announced that it will introduce a new 4.88: 1 gear ratio for the Wrangler Rubicon later this year. When paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the optional axle can provide a best-in-class 100: 1 gear ratio for improved off-road performance. This axle will be available later this year on two and four-door Wrangler Rubicon models equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine.
