Volkswagen has released official fuel consumption figures for the 2022 model year Jetta and Jetta GLI sedans for the US market. With the new 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TSI engines, the four-doors have slightly reduced their “appetite”.

The updated Volkswagen Jetta 2022 received a 1.5 TSI EA211 series gasoline engine (158 hp, 250 Nm) in America. This motor is available in combination with a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission. At the same time, the “sporty” version of the GLI acquired a 2.0 TSI unit of the EA888 series (228 hp, 350 Nm), which is paired with the same mechanical six-speed or 7-speed “robot” DSG with a double clutch.

An ordinary sedan in basic configuration with manual transmission, according to official data, spends:

  • 8.1 l / 100 km in the city;
  • 5.47 l / 100 km on the highway;
  • 6.91 l / 100 km combined;

Indicators for a car in S configuration with “automatic”:

  • 7.58 l / 100 km (city);
  • 5.73 l / 100 km (highway);
  • 6.72 l / 100 km (combined);

Indicators for a car in SE and SEL configuration with “automatic”:

  • 8.11 l / 100 km (city);
  • 5.88 l / 100 km (highway);
  • 7.12 l / 100 km (combined);

Passport consumption Volkswagen Jetta GLI 2022:

  • 9.04 l / 100 km (city);
  • 6.35 l / 100 km – with manual transmission and 6.53 l / 100 km – with DSG (highway);
  • 7.84 l / 100 km (combined);

For comparison, the 2021 Jetta with “mechanics” has a passport consumption of 7.84 l / 100 km in the city, 5.73 liters on the highway and 6.91 liters in the combined cycle. And cars with automatic transmission consume, respectively, 8.11 l / 100 km, 6.03 l / 100 km and 7.12 l / 100 km.

The 2021 Jetta GLI sedan is also slightly more voracious than newer cars. Version with “mechanics”: 9.08 l / 100 km, 7.12 l / 100 km and 8.4 l / 100 km. DSG vehicle: 9.8 l / 100 km, 6.72 l / 100 km and 8.4 l / 100 km.
