A new part of the series “Hoonicorn vs The World” has appeared on the Youtube channel of the famous racer Ken Block.
As part of the project, the athlete competes in drag (sprint race) with the most powerful cars from around the world. However, in the new race, the athlete’s daughter, 14-year-old Leah Blok, became the protagonist. The race took place on the runway.
To participate in the race, she sat behind the wheel of her father’s famous sports car Hoonicorn. This 4WD car is based on the classic 1965 Ford Mustang muscle car. The car received a 6.7-liter eight-cylinder unit with two turbines. The power of the unit is about 1400 horsepower. The engine works in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission.
The rival of Hoonicorn this time was the Tesla Model S Plaid, which was equipped with three electric motors at once. The total power of the car is 1020 hp. Acceleration to hundreds takes only 2 seconds for an electric car. The maximum speed is 321 km / h. The liftback’s cruising range is 627 kilometers. It takes 15 minutes to recharge the batteries for 300 kilometers.
In the first race, Leah Block won a convincing victory at the wheel of Hoonicorn. In the second race, the American electric car was given a small head start. During the race, Hoonicorn was able to close the gap, but the first Tesla came to the finish line anyway. The third race was held in an equal fight and it was possible to determine the winner only with the help of a photo finish. As a result, Liya Blok became the winner of the final race with a slight advantage.
