The Korean automaker continues to revamp its lineup in the brand’s homeland, and now it’s time for the 2022 KIA Sorento crossover due to hit stores in July. This is evidenced by new photos, which even show the new logo.
Photos published by thekoreancarblog show that the new KIA logo will be crowned the grille of the updated Sorento. The interior equipment of the model has also been revised. So, the top-end version of the Gravity is also available with a diesel engine (before that it was only available with a hybrid system or 2.5 Turbo).
The brand’s new logo emphasizes the KIA lettering, while the original oval frame and black background have been removed. The new logo is placed in the same place as before on the front grille. KIA has also redesigned the AWD emblem to follow the brand’s new design introduced on the K8, and will now designate four-wheel drive with the ‘4X’ badge.
Speaking of trim options, KIA has tried to adapt to the new semiconductor shortage, and as with other vehicles in its range, some equipment will now become optional again to minimize production delays.
The KIA Sorento Gravity is black on key exterior elements such as the front grille upper molding, roof rack, side moldings, front row door side strips and alloy wheels. The engine range remains the same and is represented by a 2.5-liter turbocharged unit, a 2.2-liter diesel engine and a hybrid unit with a 1.6-liter engine.
The updated Sorento will be released in South Korea in early July.
