A new prototype of the next generation KIA Sportage was spotted on the street with its new optics visible under camouflage, showing the LED graphic design of the new headlights and taillights.
In recent months, prototypes of the new generation KIA Sportage have been repeatedly captured by spy cameras. The Korean firm is about to complete development of the compact crossover, and its presentation is expected to take place before the end of the first half of this year. The new Sportage, following the brand’s trend, took to the streets in dense camouflage, perfectly concealing its new look and largely covering key elements such as the optics.
However, despite such careful camouflage, the new prototype of the new Sportage showed for the first time behind the tarpaulin the optics included, which in turn showcase the graphics of the LED headlights and taillights. In both cases, you can see large elements that take up a large area of the body, and also have rather complex shapes, especially in the case of the main headlight unit.
This will be the fifth generation of the KIA Sportage and will feature numerous technical innovations such as the new electrified options already introduced to its twin brother, the new Hyundai Tucson. Moreover, the latter will share with Sportage a new platform and main units.
While this new generation of Kia’s compact crossover was supposed to be officially unveiled last year, it turns out that the project has experienced several delays, so it remains unclear when it will launch in the Korean market. In any case, the model is expected to be presented only in the first half of this year.
