Kiev is ranked twenty world cities with the biggest traffic jams

A huge number of the world’s cities are crowded with cars, especially cities and large towns. Motorists have to stand in traffic jams for hours, to abandon the car in favor of urban transport ready units. Was no exception and the capital of Ukraine, which took the 13th place in the ranking.

TomTom has published the annual study of Traffic Index 2018, which covered 403 cities in 56 countries around the world. The leader of the rating became the city of Mumbai, India with a workload of 65%. Second and third place went to Bogota, Colombia and Lima, Peru – utilization of 63 and 58%, respectively, according to TomTom.

Kiev took the 13th place, with congestion in 46%. This figure increased by 2% in comparison with result of 2017. The average on the 30-minute trip during peak hours (morning and evening) motorists spend about an hour of downtime in traffic jams. In 2018 most free was road on 8 April. On this day, the level of utilization was 6%. The maximum level of congestion was observed on 1 March 2018 – 107%.
