The Italian supercar Lambo Aventador is present on the market since 2011, and although its “facelift” that occurred in 2016 has significantly improved him, he remained as he was before. However, if new messages of insiders will prove to be accurate, his successor may not appear until 2024.
According to foreign publications Automobile Magazine, there was a time when the Committee on product strategy of the German company VW Group, which includes Lamborghini, had intended to start production of the new supercar Lamborghini in 2020, but that date was soon postponed to 2021, and then in 2022, and now, apparently, has been postponed for another couple of years.
It is alleged that the Audi, which controls the Italian brand in the chain of command of the German band, not too willing to spend the money required to represent the receiver of the current Aventador and save the current V12 engine to its compliance with emissions standards EU7.
Rumors believe that the heirs of the Aventador and the Huracan should be based on the same chassis made of carbon fiber and have the same electronic architecture, the elements of steering, suspension and braking system. It is envisaged that development of these two new vehicles and the simultaneous preservation of the V12 engine would cost $ 900 million. However, it is reported that Lamborghini thinks he can do it all in about $ 450 million, of which approximately 55 million may be required in order to “force” its 6.5-liter V12 to comply with the new emission standards.
However, there is a likelihood that the Lamborghini can provide updated versions of existing Huracan and Aventador to prolong their life cycle for another four years.
