On August 2, sales of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 started in Japan. Local mass media report that due to high demand the most popular SUV modifications will have to wait 2-4 years. The queue lined up at the time of accepting orders – from July, when the Land Cruiser 300 became available for order, and until the beginning of August, more than 20 thousand applications were issued, and we are talking about prepaid cars.
In Japan, the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 can be purchased for 5,100,000 yen (almost $ 46,700). There are several modifications to choose from: with a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine that develops 409 horsepower and a 3.3-liter V6 diesel engine for 309 horsepower. Both are paired with a 10-speed automatic and permanent all-wheel drive. The SUV is available with a five- and seven-seater saloon. Journalists do not specify which versions are in greatest demand and for which the queue lined up four years ahead.
Earlier it became known that Toyota imposed a ban on Japanese customers from reselling Land Cruiser 300 within 12 months after purchase. The automaker explained this by the massive outflow of SUVs abroad, including to regions where there are restrictions on the import of equipment.
Restrictions also apply to pre-ordered cars: if the dealer finds out that the contract was executed for the purpose of the subsequent resale of the car, it will be terminated.
