Land Cruiser 300: technical details

One of the most anticipated new products of 2021, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, has once again become a victim of an information leak. This time, the South African division of the brand published data on the transition of the model to a new platform, its dimensions and gearbox ahead of schedule.

Two new posts have appeared on the Land.cruiser.300 Instagram profile. One of them confirms that with the change of generation, the Toyota Land Cruiser will move to the TNGA-F architecture (the recently announced Tundra pickup of 2022 is built on it) and will receive a ten-band automatic transmission.

With the Tundra, the SUV will also share a new 3.5-liter V6 turbo engine that develops 415 horsepower, which is designed to oust the outdated 5.7-liter V8 from the range. An alternative to it will be a 3.3-liter V6 diesel with 309 recoil (+41 power relative to the current diesel unit).

Among other changes that will happen to the Toyota Land Cruiser – the SUV will be lighter due to the use of aluminum in the manufacture of the roof, and the volume of its fuel tank will be reduced by 15 liters.

The length of the new Land Cruiser will be 4965 millimeters for the GR Sport and 4985 millimeters for the ZX version. The SUV’s height is 1945 millimeters (+35 millimeters relative to its predecessor), and its width is 1990 millimeters. The distance between the axles has not changed and will be 2850 millimeters. The ground clearance also remained the same at 230 millimeters.

The premiere of the model will take place either May 31 or June 1, 2021.
