Information about the development of a completely new generation of the French crossover is already circulating throughout Europe with great intensity. According to the French website L’Argus, the third incarnation of the model is in full development and will enter the market around 2024, and will bring important changes both from an aesthetic and technical point of view.
First, the current B0 platform, inherited from the first generation, will be phased out. Renault’s new modular architecture CMF-B will be used in the new generations of Logan and Sandero. The base will provide significant improvements in terms of safety and manageability, as well as pave the way for electrification. So the 2024 Duster will have a hybrid powertrain.
It is expected to get the E-Tech powerplant that Renault uses in the Clio and Captur hybrid versions sold in Europe. Its basis in the case of the new “duster” will be a 1.6-liter petrol unit. The engine range will also include the classic internal combustion engine, and it is expected that it will be a 1.8-liter engine, also naturally aspirated.
From a design point of view, all indications are that the Bigster Concept will be used as inspiration, which will be used as a basis for an SUV larger than the Duster itself in 2025.
