For the 2022 season, the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer has updated the KPT range of two touring vehicles with 200 and 450 cc engines. In order to improve environmental performance, the younger model, KPT 200, received an engine of a smaller displacement – 149 cubic meters. see And, accordingly, a new name: KPT 150.
The new liquid-cooled engine, despite the loss of fifty “cubes”, produces a maximum power even more (by a whole horsepower!) than the 200-cc predecessor – 17.5 hp. Not bad for a fairly light bike at just 158kg. The fuel supply in a 14-liter tank is enough for more than one hundred kilometers, because the appetite of a 150-cc “motor” is quite small.
The Lifan KPT 150 chassis is made at a high level: a long-stroke inverted fork is installed in front, and a mono-shock absorber with adjustable spring preload is installed at the rear. Despite the fairly high ground clearance, the seat height remained at a comfortable level of 790 mm. Lifan KPT 150 received an anti-lock braking system. It will be offered as an option in Asian markets, with all motorcycles for Europe equipped with ABS as standard. The Chinese also worked on the appearance of the KPT 150: the motorcycle received an updated plastic with a pronounced “beak” and an asymmetric headlight.
Sales of the novelty in Asian markets should begin this year, with a suggested retail price of KPT 150 equivalent to $ 3,000. The mini-adventure will arrive in Europe later, but no exact dates or prices have been announced yet.
