The Polestar 5 electric car will be released on a new aluminum platform. The widespread use of aluminum alloy will make it possible to reduce weight and at the same time increase body rigidity.

The production Polestar 5 electric car will be lighter than electric vehicles in the lower class. At the same time, the torsional rigidity of the body of this model will be higher than that of a sports coupe or supercar. All this can provide superiority over competitors in the market in terms of dynamics, range, and safety.

The platform and bodywork of the Polestar 5 was developed at Polestar’s R&D center in Coventry, UK. It is planned that in the coming months the staff of specialists will almost double, from 280 to 500 people. This suggests that the brand is in the active phase of development, and also intends to release many new products.

The Polestar 5 electric car will have a wheelbase of about 3.1 meters. The adaptive cruise control system will use lidar along with other sensors. Some interior elements will be made from recycled materials. In the interior of the car, most likely, there will be a vertically oriented multimedia display with a diagonal of 15 inches. The Polestar 5 production electric car will be the development of the Precept concept car. The novelty is going to be shown in 2024. Before the “five”, the brand will present the Polestar 3 crossover, as well as the Polestar 4 cross-coupe.
