Lighter, more powerful, faster: hidden details about the new Model X

Thanks to the premature leak of confidential information, sensational details have become known regarding the updated electric Tesla Model X crossover.

RBC-Ukraine Auto reports this with a link to CarBuzz.

Amid the popularity and explosive sales of budget Model 3 sedans and Model Y SUVs, this serious SUV has fallen into the shadows. But in vain …

A secret Tesla document, which has yet to be released, reveals interesting details regarding the Model X crossover updates to the Long Range version.

So, the 2022 re-styled Tesla Model X Long Range is more than 30 percent more powerful than its predecessor. If earlier the front / rear electric motors produced 241 and 253 horsepower, respectively, now these figures are 326 and 333 horsepower.

The increase in power is not the only improvement, as the battery in the latest Long Range version weighs 14% less. This means an increase in the specific energy of the battery pack by 13% and a decrease in curb weight by 4%. If previously an electric SUV weighed 2,466 kg, now this figure has dropped by a hundred kilograms.

No documentation for the top-tier X Plaid is available yet, but according to Tesla’s website, this three-engine model will hit 100 km / h in just 2.5 seconds.

What else will make us happy with the updated flagship Tesla SUV will become known after the automaker has released all the technical information.

As a reminder, Tesla has released a new home charger that will work with all electric vehicles sold in North America. This is the first time that a California-based automaker has offered a charger without its proprietary plug, which Tesla uses.
