The British company GTO Engineering has presented its next project to revive the classic Ferrari model. Specialists have developed a spider with the designation 250 GT SWB California.
The British firm GTO Engineering is ready to build a supercar, which they refer to as the SWB Spyder Revival, based on a Ferrari client model, for example, to turn a wrecked or damaged supercar into a replica. The chassis will be modified, the body panels will be completely replaced, and the interior will be updated.
The base engine for the replica is the 3.0-liter V12 unit, which GTO Engineering uses in other projects of the Revival series. It produces approximately 300 hp. However, at the request of the client, the volume of the engine can be increased to 3.5 or 4.0 liters. In a pair to the power unit, four or 5-speed manual transmissions are offered. It takes the company about 1,500 man-hours to build each replica.
GTO Engineering estimates its work at 750-850 thousand pounds (1.03 – 1.17 million dollars). The original Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder is priced significantly higher at auctions: $ 15-16 million. At the same time, a replica is intended not only for those who simply cannot afford to buy a real rare Ferrari car, but also for those who already have the original spider. According to representatives of the company, a similar-looking but new car can be driven every day without fear of damaging an expensive vehicle.
