Electric prototype called the Experimental GT X, it is positioned as a crossover. The concept can be considered a symbol of the transition of the Opel and Vauxhall under the wing of the PSA Group – the French purchased the brand from General Motors a year ago. All the new models of German and British brands will be outwardly similar to GT X Experimental.
The corporate style of Opel and Vauxhall is determined by two terms – Compass and Vizor. “Compass” stands for this: on the front of all future machines brands in the center is the emblem (opleska lightning or a Vauxhall Griffin), North and South – the swage line on the hood and “build-up” on the bumper respectively, the West and the East – running lights; the same features are characteristic for the stern.
Vizor is the front part, resembling a wind deflector motorcycle helmet (hence the name): GT X Experimental spotlight, sensors, electronic assistants and the emblem is covered with transparent panels, a traditional grille in the concept of a no, because for us the electric car. Machines with internal combustion engine, obviously, such panels will be, but the shape of the front will remain the same.
As stated in Opel/Vauxhall, the concept is “light architecture”, while details about the “truck” is not given. Probably talking about the platform CMP, the PSA group, which will also form the basis of the “SUV” DS 3 Crossback, the next Opel Corsa and Peugeot 208. The length of GT is equal to 4 X Experimental 063 mm by 149 mm compared with the current most compact cross Opel – Mokka X (built on the “zimowski” platform Gamma II). Prototype width is 1 830 mm (+65 mm compared to Mokka), height – 1 528 mm (-77 mm) wheelbase – 2 625 mm (+21 mm).
The concept has received the opening facing back door b-pillar are missing. The interior was decorated in a minimalist style: virtual “tidy” (again form Vizor), the sides of which are two more screens (which displays the image from outdoor camera), four chairs, raised above the floor.
About “stuffing” X Experimental GT in Opel/Vauxhall is silent, we only know that the crossover is equipped with a lithium-ion battery “new generation” with a capacity of 50 kW*h. in addition, provided for the electric vehicle induction charging – that is, without any wires.
The first commercial model of the Opel/Vauxhall design in the style of GT X Experimental will become the new generation Corsa hatch to debut next year. But the serial perspectives of the conceptual cross not yet reported.
