The Buick GL8 Avenir luxury minivan is now available with a hybrid engine. The new car is available to buyers in China and has a starting price tag of $ 71,600.
The China-only GL8 Avenir has received the 2022 model year version, which differs from its predecessor with significant visual and mechanical updates. More standard and optional equipment, improved ride quality and, most importantly, a new electrified powertrain are the highlights of the updated model.
Outside, the GL8 Avenir is now available in the new Pearl White color, which can be combined with the Bordeaux Red / Jade White interior color combination for the six and seven-seat minivan versions.
There are additional USB charging ports and reading lights for third row passengers. The luxurious four-seater version of the model boasts an exclusive navy blue 13mm pile carpet.
The latest version of the Buick eConnect infotainment system comes standard, offering a redesigned user interface and associated navigation with 3D graphics. The system also features new vehicle monitoring and air quality display. Last but not least, depending on the trim level, the GL8 Avenir receives a wide range of electronic safety and assistance systems.
The novelty is also offered with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, which is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. There is an optional 48-volt electric motor, 48-volt battery, and a power management module. The intelligent system provides braking energy regeneration and electric boost and should be six percent more efficient.
The refreshed GL8 Avenir 2022, already available to order in China, is offered in three body colors starting at RMB 463,900 or $ 71,600. The maximum execution of the novelty will cost 533,900 yuan or $ 82,400.
