The premiere of the compact crossover Maserati Grecale, which will compete with Porsche Macan, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC, will take place in November 2021. This was reported by the press service of the Italian brand.
Maserati Grecale was first announced in September 2020, and in February of this year, the Italian brand published the first teaser of the car. The car was supposed to debut this spring, but its premiere was postponed for several months due to the new wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The novelty will be named in honor of the strong Gregal wind blowing in the western Mediterranean.
The new Maserati crossover will be based on the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, to which it will become a more luxurious and sporty alternative. According to preliminary data, the engine range will be represented by 2.0-liter petrol “turbo-fours” with a hybrid superstructure with a capacity of about 270 and 330 horsepower.
It is possible that the crossover will have a “charged” modification with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 unit, producing over 500 horsepower. All motors will work in conjunction with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The crossover will be offered with both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.
The latest addition to Maserati is the MC20 sports coupe, unveiled in summer 2020. The supercar was equipped with a new three-liter V6 engine with two turbines, developing 630 hp. and 730 Nm of torque. The car is capable of gaining the first “hundred” in 2.9 seconds, and its maximum speed is 325 km per hour.
