The Maybach company has announced the date of the premiere of the new concept car, which will be called Project Maybach, – it will take place on December 1 this year at the Art Basel contemporary art fair in Miami. The exterior of the concept is being worked on by the chief designer of the Gorden Wagener brand and the American fashion designer Virgil Abloh. It is noted that the creative duo will “push the boundaries of functionality and style.”
It is not yet clear what exactly the concept car will be – not even the type of its body has been disclosed. At the same time, the manufacturer officially announced that the show car will show the possibilities of design, not tied to any drawings or production specifications.
The enigmatic Project Maybach will be the second Mercedes-Maybach concept model without an internal combustion engine after the luxury crossover EQS Concept unveiled at the Munich Motor Show in September this year. The particular focus on Maybach is due to the brand celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2021.
By the way, Wagener and Abloh have already demonstrated the result of their joint work – in the fall of last year, a conceptual version of the G-class SUV was shown, which was turned into a track sports car.
