German Mercedes-Benz continues tests of the insane EQC 4×42, despite the previous information about the closure of the project. The video with the car was posted on YouTube.
For the first time, the 4×42 version appeared on the famous Gelandwagen and received many positive reviews. The special design, in fact, enhanced the off-road capabilities of the car and allowed not to be afraid of the most terrible quagmire.
Off-road electric vehicles are incredibly rare today, except for special models for various rally-raids. However, the Germans could have got the first serial electric dirt conqueror for the civilian market. It was originally planned to be produced in a limited edition. However, after the presentation of the prototype, the case stalled. The company said it had abandoned the idea of releasing the EQC 4×42.
Nevertheless, the electric crossover continues to be tested. True, it is possible that some components are tested on it, which are intended for promising models. In addition, the brand is known to be developing the second generation EQC. It is likely that an extreme off-road version will still appear, but already at the upcoming generation of the SUV.
Note that some time ago the management of the Daimler concern decided to divide it into two components. The Truck and Bus Division will become an independent, independent joint stock company named Daimler Truck Holding AG. The remainder of Daimler AG will be renamed Mercedes-Benz Group AG. The company will continue to produce cars and vans under the Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach and Mercedes-EQ brands.
