The German concern Daimler will reduce the production and sales of cars until 2022 due to a shortage of microcircuits. This statement was made to investors by the financial director of the concern Harald Wilhelm.
According to him, the shortage of chips will last until 2022, but will be less serious than this year.
Sales of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in 2021 are expected to be about the same level as in 2020. Mercedes’ sales growth in the first half of 2021 will be offset by a slowdown in sales in the second half.
Mercedes-Benz has increased the production of electric vehicles this year. Thus, serial production of the new EQS electric sedan began. The company plans to produce eight electric vehicles in 2022.
