Mercedes-Benz has published a series of teasers that give an idea of the small GLA crossover of the second generation. The premiere of the car will take place on 11 December this year.
The height of the new Mercedes-Benz GLA will increase by approximately 10 cm, therefore the model will be more like a crossover, but not high hatchback, with which it is often confused with the first generation car. However, the GLA remains the smallest SUV in the lineup of the German brand and his appearance in the style of “Junior” models for A-Class and B-Class.
New Mercedes-Benz GLA will be built on a modular platform MFA2 underlying the fourth A-Class. The architecture involves the use of electrified propulsion, however at the time of launch, the crossover will only be available with traditional internal combustion engines.
We are talking about the new 1.3-liter turbo “four” power of 163 BHP and two-liter unit. The diesel line is represented by engines with a capacity from 116 to 190 horsepower. It is not excluded that in the future crossover will be “charged” version of AMG with the indexes 35 and 45, which will receive the engine capacity of 306 HP and 421, respectively.
The crossover will be available with the systems semi-automatic control, operating on the basis of a set of cameras and sensors. In addition, the car will be offered with a new multimedia system MBUX, digital instrument panel, combined with a touch display.
